“Our vast experience in the area of payroll advisory helped us identify exactly the type of employment contracts that are advantageous for companies, depending on the industry in which they activate. Moreover, we found solutions so they can be used in companies while equally complying with legal provisions and employee needs”, said Maria Cojocariu, Payroll Manager Accace.
Therefore, companies in manufacturing are advised to opt for the collaboration through fixed-term employment contracts, including work shifts. This form of collaboration enables the correlation between the number of staff and the seasonal dynamics of the activity. One of the benefits that this type of contract offers employees is the fact that they can work in shifts, for example 12 working hours, followed by 24 hours off. This gives them the possibility to invest time in other personal projects or even in a second part-time job.
Similar to manufacturing are retail companies, where the dynamic of activity is determined by collection launches, shopping events such as Black Friday or traditional shopping periods such as Easter, Children’s Day, Christmas or March 1st.
In retail, Accace experts recommend fixed-term employment contracts, with part-time work programs (4 or 6 hours). This form of collaboration allows companies and employees to organize their activities so that they meet the needs of both parts, given the dynamics of the activity and the average age of employees in this industry.
“Since the predominant age range of employees in retail companies is between 18 and 28 years old, and most of them are still students or are attending various other classes, one of their essential needs is program flexibility. By working under a part-time contract in the retail industry, this can be easily obtained”, Maria Cojocariu added.
As for IT companies that want to remain attractive in the labor market, Accace’s recommendation is to take into consideration the fact that the “flexi-time” work schedule or the possibility to work from home are among the current needs of candidates who want to work in this domain.
“The IT industry is by far the most creative one when it comes to options for employee work programs, and most companies choose fixed-term employment contracts, equivalent to the period of the project, as well as the possibility for employees to benefit from a flexible program (flexi-time) or work from home (home-office). We believe that these two concepts are mandatory in the collaboration between IT employers and the current generation of candidates”, Maria Cojocariu concluded.
