In the Official Gazette No. 454/31.05.2018 has been published The Government Emergency Ordinance no. 44/2018 of May 24, 2018 regarding certain measures referring to the application of certain provisions and the extension of a term stipulated by the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 28/1999 regarding the obligation of the economic operators to use fiscal electronic cash registers, as well as for the completion of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 64/2007 on public debt.
Due to the difficulties faced by the companies in implementing the electronic cash registers triggered by both the producers/distributors of electronic cash registers and tax authorities – by delaying the publishing of technical procedures, the GEO 44/2018 postpones the applications of penalties for the companies that do not use electronic cash registers as follows:
- September 1st, 2018 for the economic operators who have the capacity of large and medium-sized taxpayers;
- November 1st, 2018 for the economic operators who have the capacity of small taxpayers.
