Do you know about GivingTuesday? It is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world on Tuesday after U.S. Thanksgiving. It was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
In Accace Czech Republic we joined the movement with three CSR activities. We recently informed you that we are collecting clothes for Moment Charity shops in our branches in Ostrava and Brno. At the end of November, at our Christmas party, we gave a financial donation to the non-profit organization Na počátku, which helps women who became pregnant too early, unexpectedly or under inappropriate circumstances.
And last, but not least, we decided to support the five-year-old Matěj Kaňovský from the Zlín region. Matýsek was born with a very rare defect, congenital artrogryposis. His condition improves a little after orthopedic surgery and regular exercise, which is not paid by the insurance company. How do we help Matýsek? Instead of taking the elevator, we go to our offices up the stairs and turn the floors into money for Matýsek. If you want to support Matěj in any way, contact his mother via Facebook.
