In our #PeopleOfAccace series, we’ll bring you behind the scenes of Accace through some casual chats. You’ll find out how we come up with new services and solutions, who has been with Accace the longest and what positions they’ve held over the years, but above all, you’ll get to know our amazing people. In this current interview, we spoke with our Office Assistant from Slovakia, Rebeka Gabrišová, who’s been with us for two years.
I encounter all kinds of personalities here, which naturally brings a variety of opinions — sometimes even about the exact same processes or requests. Over time, I’ve realized that my key to keeping everyone happy is to ditch “I don’t know” and go with “I’ll figure it out” instead. It’s a small detail, but it can shape how colleagues approach you in the future, especially when you’re just starting out. Fortunately, the people I work with are very helpful, which is a big reason why I enjoy coming here every morning. Their years of experience have often helped me, especially during my first weeks here.
I’d say I kind of chose Accace intuitively. Before this, I worked in a similar field and wanted something where I could use what I already knew but also where I could learn new things. At that time, I was going to job interviews almost every week, but I never left them feeling convinced that I should join that company. Then I had my first meeting with Accace, and something just clicked—I knew I wanted in, and thankfully, it worked out.
What I love most about my job at Accace is that it allows me to interact with pretty much everything and everyone. It’s really not just about making coffee and answering phones. There’s so much more to learn beyond the job description, thanks to the frequent unexpected situations that need to be dealt with daily—you just have to be willing.
I think there’s something interesting to be found in several of our departments. For me, though, I lean most toward the marketing department. It’s an area that interested me even before joining Accace, and I had a chance to dip into it a bit in my previous job, so it makes sense that I’d answer this way. I think it’s a field that’s constantly evolving, where you have to keep adapting to the “changing times” and where there’s always an opportunity to learn something new. That’s what makes it so interesting to me.
Living outside Slovakia does pull me, and I’d definitely like to do it again, this time on my own. For some, moving to a completely new country might feel daunting because you suddenly find yourself alone in an unfamiliar place. But that’s also part of what attracts me to it—maybe as a personal challenge. I love exploring new cultures, and when I visit new countries, I’m always more interested in local spots than tourist-packed squares. That’s another reason I’d like to live abroad. The mentality really is different everywhere—even in neighboring Czechia, where you’d think we’d be very similar, but the opposite is true.
Ironically, my dream countries to live in are ones I haven’t visited yet, though that could change quickly after I do. I’m really drawn to New Zealand, Australia, and Iceland. Those are probably my top three places I’d love to visit, and if conditions allowed, maybe even settle down there for a few years.
I’d recommend working at Accace to anyone who’s eager to keep expanding their horizons and, above all, to someone who wants to work and isn’t afraid to step out of their comfort zone occasionally.
I love foreign languages and once thought I’d become a translator or a tour guide because. Back in elementary school, I was so into it that I tried learning three languages at once – not the happiest choice. Also, I’ll admit that my biggest “guilty pleasure” is watching every reality show that Slovak TV has to offer.
I don’t have a lot of free time, so I try to divide it mainly between my family, friends, and myself—sinceI’m one of those people who needs to “recharge my batteries” regularly. I love everything related to culture and could spend every day at the cinema or a concert. I also enjoy “spontaneous trips” that come together overnight, whether it’s to nature or other places.
