On 30th September 2022, the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 132/2022 regarding the amendment and completion of some normative acts was published in the Official Gazette no. 957.

The sanctionary regime related to the e-Transport system in Romania has been postponed once more, until 1st January 2023, so that economic operators that do not make reports or make incorrect reports will not risk being fined even in the following months.Although the reporting of transports in the new electronic road transport monitoring system is mandatory from 1st July 2022, the Government postponed for the second time the deadline from which sanctions may be applied:

  • the first postponement was for three months (from 1st July to 1st October);
  • by emergency ordinance no. 132/2022, a new postponement was decided for another three months, which will cover the period 1st October – 31st December 2022.

Thus, the new deadline for the application of sanctions related to the e-Transport system is 1st January 2023.

The e-Transport system in Romania represents the national system that aims to monitor the transport of goods with high fiscal risk on the Romanian territory; it has been implemented by the authorities within the digitalization process of the fiscal administration, since 1st July 2022.
