As of September 1, 2025, an amendment to Act No. 5/2004 Coll. on Employment Services will come into effect, introducing a significant change to employer notification forms in Slovakia. This affects how employers must notify the employment of certain categories of individuals.

Who is affected by this change

Employers will be required to electronically notify the employment of the following persons:

  • Citizens of EU Member States,
  • Their family members,
  • Family members of Slovak citizens,
  • Third-country nationals.

Notification process

Notification will be possible exclusively in electronic form using a designated form:

  • The form will be specified by the Central Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family,
  • It must be signed with a qualified electronic signature,
  • Deadlines for notification:
    • Within 7 working days of the start of employment,
    • Within 7 working days of the end of employment.

The information card forms will be available at: Home page – UPVS – Employment section → Labour Law Relations tab

Other submission methods will not be accepted

From September 1, 2025, it will no longer be possible to submit the information card by post or in person.
Such submissions will not be considered as fulfilling the employer’s legal obligation.
